-Has good clarity and glare reduction allowing enhanced viewing day and night
-Is more scratch -resistant than regular tint and is stronger and more shatter-resistant

-Offers protection and aesthetics but not as much as ceramic tints
-Rejects some rays but not as much as ceramic tint
-Interferes a little with GPS cell reception
-Offers some glare-reduction but not as much as ceramic tints do

What Is Ceramic Tint?
Ceramic tint is a tint that has nano-ceramic particles. While dyed, metallized, and carbon tints are more conventional kinds of tint applied as window film to block UV rays. Ceramic window film is in fact the most advanced option on the market as it possesses the greatest heat rejection properties. Thus, although we can’t see into the film, the presence of ceramic particles are what provide sun rejection and glare reduction while still being nearly transparent to the naked eye. Ceramic auto window tint film is made with layers but lacks in metal particles and thus doesn’t interfere with reception as aforementioned. Here are what its layers are made of:
Top Layer: The hard coat layer is embedded with nano-ceramic particles meaning extra durability for your windshield and less chips and scratches.
Transparent Polyester Layer: This layer adds thickness to the tint for more durability.
Laminate Adhesive Layer: This layer contains ceramic particles as well, meaning more extended visible light transmission (VLT) during nighttime for safety and awareness.
Extra Polyester & Adhesive Layers: These are bonded layers for durability and proper bonding to the glass.

Ceramic Tint vs. Ceramic Coating
Although their names are similar, ceramic tints and ceramic coatings are completely different. For example, ceramic window tinting is a film that is applied to your windows that absorbs heat and sunlight. It prevents UV rays, and provides other features for privacy advantages. Ceramic coating on the other hand is a liquid polymer applied to the exterior of a vehicle that protects paint from dirt, water, and minor scratches. In essence, ceramic tints are comfort features for when you’re driving and protect the interior of a car, while the ceramic coatings protect paint jobs from the exterior and keep the vehicle looking professional. Ceramic tints reduce glare and improve visibility, whereas ceramic coatings promote gloss and hydrophobic qualities. Finally, both options provide incredible longevity, but the ceramic tints are a protective window feature and the ceramic coatings are paint protection for easy maintenance. So if you’re in the market for the ultimate in window features and protection, get the ceramic tint! We also do ceramic coatings, so just ask us if you want both.
Difference Between Carbon Window Tint and Ceramic Window Tint
If you are getting your windows tinted, there is a good chance that you may have been offered a carbon window tint. Carbon window tint is a premium window tint film, however, there are differences between this and ceramic window tint. For example, carbon window tint is manufactured from actual carbon particles within the film, which also blocks infrared light. Like dyed tints, it keeps the interior cooler and reduces glare. Ceramic window tint is manufactured from nano ceramic particles, which work better for heat rejection, but also blocks infrared light and ultraviolet light—which means it reduces heat buildup in the vehicle more than carbon tints. Furthermore, carbon window tint has a bit of a hazy distortion to the visibility, while ceramic tint has low visible light transmission, meaning it is optically clear, making driving more comfortable during the day and at night. Finally, in terms of durability, carbon window tints are considered non-fading (compared to dyed films), but ceramic auto tints have higher scratch resistance, less wear and fade over time, and more shatter resistance. Finally, while all these things come at a price, carbon tints are less expensive compared to ceramic window tints, which are considered a more luxurious option for comfort and protection.
